This was a nightmare to cut properly though I would add that I didn't have the best of tools at the time. The head was incredibly awkward to shape to fit as it was harder on one side than the other, so easier to cut away on the softer side and risk having the head not fitting evenly. It also seemed to have a slight bend to one side possible on account as the wood wasn't of even density and it might not have been fully dried out in the kiln.
